Job Description

About the role

Containers and Kubernetes are now standard in production, and engineers with Kubernetes skills are paid a clear premium in the Indian market. Learners come to Fourcup to move from "I know Docker commands" to running real clusters. You will teach DevOps and Kubernetes with production-style labs, troubleshooting drills and GitOps pipelines, and coach learners towards CKA / CKAD.

Why this role matters now: Kubernetes is now expected for backends running at scale in India, and DevOps engineers with real cluster, Helm and GitOps skills earn a clear premium over Docker-only profiles.

What you will do

  • Deliver live online DevOps and Kubernetes batches, from Linux and Git to multi-service cluster deployments
  • Run troubleshooting labs (CrashLoopBackOff, failed probes, scheduling, networking and RBAC issues) the way real on-call work looks
  • Guide learners through a full GitOps pipeline: code to container to cluster with Argo CD
  • Prepare learners for CKA and CKAD with timed practice and exam strategy
  • Review assignments, give structured feedback and run mock interviews

Technical skills you must be strong in

  • Linux, networking basics, Bash and Python scripting
  • Git, branching strategies, pull-request workflow

  • Services, Ingress, NetworkPolicies, DNS
  • ConfigMaps, Secrets, PV / PVC, StorageClasses

  • Cluster setup with kubeadm; managed clusters (EKS, AKS, GKE)
  • Helm and Kustomize, upgrades, rollbacks and troubleshooting

CI/CD, GitOps & IaC

  • Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI
  • Argo CD / Flux (GitOps)
  • Terraform and Ansible

Observability & security

  • Prometheus, Grafana, Loki / ELK, alerting
  • Container and supply-chain security: Trivy, OPA / Kyverno, Falco
  • Service mesh basics (Istio / Linkerd)

Certifications

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
  • Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS) — a plus
  • Docker Certified Associate or HashiCorp Terraform Associate — a plus

You should have (the Fourcup trainer standard)

  • 7+ years of hands-on industry experience in DevOps and Kubernetes — real projects delivered, not only teaching
  • Excellent spoken and written English — you can explain a hard concept simply, live, to career-switchers and freshers
  • A genuine interest in teaching and mentoring; patience with beginners and joy in seeing learners get job-ready
  • Strong delivery: structured live sessions, hands-on demos and labs, clear doubt-clearing, assignments with feedback and mock interviews
  • Reliable and professional: punctual, prepared, follows the batch plan and curriculum, and keeps learners motivated

Nice to have

  • Prior experience as a trainer, mentor or interviewer
  • Published content, a blog, GitHub projects or conference talks
  • Experience preparing learners for interviews and certifications

How we select

  • Resume and profile review
